Best place to purchase clothing for your family photoshoot

As a Perth family photographer, I often get asked what clothing should one wear for a family photoshoot. It is no surprise that a beautifully curated clothing wardrobe in your photo session can make a huge difference to your final photos.

When choosing clothing for your kids or family photoshoot, it is best to select pieces that will add a timeless feel to your images. It is also a good idea to think about your personal style and home decor. The colours you choose to wear during the photo shoot, should not clash with colours in the room you are planning to hang your portrait. 

I usually recommend solid colours in earthy tones and choosing styles that are timeless. For example – long flowy dresses for mums, pinafore dresses for girls, cotton overall for boys and solid colours t-shirts and khaki pants for dads.

It can all get a bit overwhelming, but don’t worry! I provide personalised 1-on-1 consultation to help you choose your wardrobe for your portrait session. I will hold your hand every step of the way. We can go through your existing wardrobe to see if there are items you already own, that can be used in the shoot. I also have an ever growing collection of photography friendly outfits available to use in my client closet.

Outfits for photography session don’t need to be expensive. While the retailers listed below offer a wide range of styles suited to photography sessions, there are some great options available in more affordable shops such as Kmart & Target.
